About
Main bio
That's an obnoxious thing to write about yourself, so here's the receipt: ten years in, Awwwards-recognised work, and brands and products shipped for YC-backed and Microsoft-backed companies. Taste is the service. Everything else is execution.
I design brand identities, products, and websites, then sometimes build them too. AI SaaS, fintech, healthcare, real estate, e-commerce. Twenty-plus startups across North America, Europe, and Asia. I've led full rebrands, designed dashboards enterprise teams live inside all day, and written the front-end code when handing off a Figma file wasn't going to get it shipped.
Right now I run GY6, a design and product studio in Dhaka. Before that I led design and development at Markopolo.ai, Microsoft-backed, mid-pivot, and the reason I got to design DeepDive for enterprise teams at PepsiCo, Olay, BAT, and Manchester City. Along the way I've designed official MTV merchandise and brand work for NVIDIA-backed Anuba Technologies. And before all of it, Scratchboard. campaigns for Miniso, Bata, Airtel, TikTok, and Foodpanda, the years that taught me how to make things that survive a real client and a real deadline.

it's me
Opinions I've had to defend in real meetings
Taste is the job
Anyone can produce work now. That was the hard part for a hundred years and it stopped being hard in about eighteen months. What's left is knowing which version is good, and that's the part I've spent ten years getting right. It's also the part I can't hand to a machine.
with great taste comes great power. And… you know the rest.
autopilot still needs a pilot.
Somebody has to be in the seat
Planes have flown themselves for decades. Nobody boards one without a pilot. Same deal here. The tools do a lot of the flying now and I use all of them, but someone still has to decide where the thing is going, notice when it starts drifting, and take the controls back. That's the job I'm actually doing. Nothing leaves my desk that I haven't judged myself.
I changed the order I work in
The old way was research, design, hand off, build, launch six months later and hope. I don't work like that anymore. Now I build the rough version first, clickable, ugly, real, and design against what happens when you actually use it. Opinions get cheap very fast once there's a working thing on the screen. It's quicker and the work comes out better, which is the only reason worth changing how you work.
build first, design after. Yes, really.
I’ve sat on your side of the table.
I know what design has to earn
I've run a company. Payroll, contracts, clients going quiet, the maths at the end of the month. So I don't sell you decoration and I don't hand you something beautiful that doesn't move a number. When I push back on an idea, it's usually because I've already watched that idea cost somebody money.
My Experience in this capitalist world
Timeline

GY6
Founded and scaled a design and product studio to a 25+ person team of local and international talent. Creative direction and design quality across 6+ concurrent client projects, plus the whole unglamorous operating model behind it: design systems, project governance, contracts, and a Notion-based finance and PM stack. Hard cap of four projects per designer, because quality is a capacity decision.

Visual design and campaign work for Miniso, Bata, Airtel, TikTok, and Foodpanda. The career-defining chapter — where brand-forward, client-ready design at scale stopped being a theory.
